Kirst Engineering co was established in Billings Montana as a sole proprietorship in early 1981 and operated as a manufacturer's sales representative and industrial equipment distributor. The company was incorporated in 1984 as Kirst Engineering Co., Inc. The initial customer base included petroleum refining, power generation, oil& gas and general industrial end users. Products offered were fluid handling equipment and controls, with some degree of engineering required in their application. Although we have added and changed products over the years, our focus on products for fluid processes and the instrumentation to control and monitor them, has remained unchanged.

Over the years Kirst Engineering Co. has expanded our business geography to include all of Montana and Wyoming and the western half of North Dakota and South Dakota. We have branch sales offices in Casper, Wyoming, Bismarck, North Dakota and Missoula, Montana. We currently have a staff of twelve people, with and Applications Engineering support group, distribution warehouse and fabrication shop in Billings.

Our original market focus on petroleum refining, power generation and oil & gas market remains unchanged. Today, however we also offer products for the water & wastewater, mining, pulp & paper, wood processing and commercial construction markets. Our mission from the beginning has been to offer engineered product of the highest quality, along with the best technical support in our territory. We work hard to make doing business with Kirst Engineering Co. and our principals easy.
